What is Salida Artwalk?
Salida Artwalk is a venue-based art weekend, which is different than many weekend art festivals. We do not organize a 'show' and earn a profit from booth fees or attendance tickets. We are a completely volunteer, no-profit organization, and our wish is to bring art enthusiasts to find art in downtown Salida, highlighting the fact that Salida is the year-round home to 18 artist owned galleries, and over 100 other professional artists.
Artists who would like to show their work during Salida Artwalk
If you would like to show and sell your artwork during this June weekend, please find a registered venue and contact them to see if they are interested in displaying your work. If you would like to create your own venue, you might team up with another artist or a few, and contact a commercial building owner in downtown Salida, register as a venue with Artwalk to be included in all of our promotional projects, and organize a space for your work to be enjoyed by the art collectors and interested public that we bring to see your art.
Please note that while the event is scheduled from Friday evening through Sunday, a few collectors come to peruse town beforehand as early as Wednesday to see 'the best' artwork before it has a chance to sell on the weekend, and so it might be worthwhile to set up a week ahead of the Friday kick-off and be ready to meet and greet by Wednesday. With all that work, consider keeping your space open for a month, or all summer, or all year! :)
